The IED Barcelona Undergraduate Studies International Awards in Spain is a scholarship program offered by the IED Barcelona. This scholarship is aimed at international students who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in the field of design at IED Barcelona in Spain for the academic year 2024.

Benefits of the Scholarship awards
The IED Barcelona undergraduate studies offers 48 scholarships, covering 50% of the tuition fees for the chosen course. Winners of 50% scholarships have to pay the enrollment fee plus half of the tuition fee.

How To Apply For The Scholarship Awards
1. To apply for the contest, participants are required to develop research that’s relevant to the specific undergraduate course of interest, following the guidelines described in the project briefing.
2. Choose the course you are applying for and register by filling out the form available on this link Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with the link to enter your Area, where you can upload the required documents
3. Start to arrange the required documents, respecting the guidelines reported in the briefing.
Once materials are ready, log into your area and upload your project ‘Concept’ and the required documents.
4. Should you win the scholarship, you will have 3 days to confirm your acceptance and 5 days to complete your enrollment at IED
Required documents For The Scholarship awards IN Spain, 2024
To be considered eligible, each candidate is required to:
• A motivation letter in the language of the chosen course.
• Copy of ID card or passport.
• A certification of proficiency in the language used for the course, if it is not the candidate’s home tongue (an online interview in the language of the course of choice is an option, too).
• To be admitted to the course, one must have a B2 level or higher.
• Project “Concept” as described in point 3

Rules and terms applicable for participation
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Incomplete projects, or those sent after 11:59 p.m. on April 22nd, 2024 (GMT+1 Spanish time), will not be accepted.
- The IED Barcelona undergraduate studies and Kunsthal discharge any external responsibility, such as delays due to malfunctioning devices.
- Candidates must be 18 years old by December 31st, 2024, and they must have obtained their Upper Secondary Education diploma by September 2024.
5. The lack of accomplishment of the upper secondary education diploma will result in scholarship revocation.
- Participation is strictly reserved for candidates applying for the first year of the 2024–2025 academic year.
- Students who have already obtained a diploma from IED, Kunsthal, or related schools may not take part in the selection.
8. Candidates must show proficiency in the language of the course (required at B2 as a minimum level).
9. Have the specific requirements of the chosen program, as established on the website and in the corresponding informative material.
- Employees and consultants of IED and Kunsthal are not permitted to enter the contest.
- By providing the personal data required for registration, the candidate is aware of the legal consequences entailed by supplying false data; thus, she or he is committed to providing accurate, complete, true, and correct data.

Obligations of the candidate applying for the scholarship award
1. The candidate is bound not to divulge or cede, directly or indirectly, usernames, passwords, and login data to the website.
2. The website, projects, IED, and Kunsthal contents published on the website, by any means electronic or printable, are not to be reproduced, copied, or distributed, in whole or in part, for commercial or non-commercial purposes.
3. Not to perform any action that can compromise the security of IED and Kunsthal website.
4. It is forbidden for a candidate to submit, upload, or publish material protected by copyright unless the candidate is the owner of such a right or has been authorized by the owner.
Selection Process for the IED Barcelona Undergraduate Studies
Publication, Selection of Winners, and Panel: The project evaluation will be carried out by a panel made up of directors and teachers coming from the Schools of Design, Fashion, Visual Arts, and Communication. The evaluation shall take place by the panel’s indisputable judgment.
The panel will evaluate projects with a score from 0 to 5, according to the following criteria:
• Attention and sensitivity to the chosen theme
• Effectiveness of the written commentary
• Originality of the idea
• Technical quality of the mood board
• Intellectual vividness and personal interest
• Motivation
• Design Aptitude.

The total score obtained by Candidates will be used to draw up the final ranking list.
Winners will be notified by email by IED and Kunsthal representatives. The winners must answer the email with a formal acceptance letter, within three days after the result is received.
In case the winner fails to meet this requirement, the scholarship will be automatically considered refused, and the panel may decide, unquestionably, to grant it to another candidate. After the winner accepts the scholarship, she/he will have a 5-day deadline to enroll in the course for which the scholarship was granted, pay the enrollment fee for the course, and follow the application procedure.
The project’s Concept, Features of materials, formats, and delivery method
Any registered Candidate can take part in the contest by filling out the registration form, indicating only one course and only one location. Upon receiving the access link, the
candidate will be required to upload in the Personal Area her/his project, ‘Concept’, which is a prerequisite to be assessed and be entitled to the scholarship by April 22nd,

1. The project ‘Concept’ consists of a digital mood board (to be created with any technique and medium, such as graphic images, photographs, cut-outs, scans, texts or
drawings on one or more pages) and a written commentary (or audio commentary in case of a video).
2. Moodboard: create a representation and convey through what you think one of the main problems of the Planet is today; Identify the most likely causes and explore or ideally suggest possible solutions that come from the field of Design that you find closest to you.
3. Written commentary (between 150 and 300 words) has the main purpose of describing your thinking process, how your idea came about, and how you laid out the
Mood board about the project ‘Concept’, and finally, the reasons that led you to use that medium and that technique of representation.

A candidate may only turn in one assignment for a particular course, one project “Concept,” and one IED location.
By submitting the personal information needed for registration, the candidate acknowledges that giving false information could have legal repercussions and pledges to provide accurate, full, true, and correct information.
The candidate will be held liable or accountable for any damage or damaging consequence that occurred to IED and Academia Galli for the infringement of the rule stated above.
